Open House Contemporary (OHC) offers a unique vision on the role of art in the life of the viewer, home, city and the community. By bringing together a diverse collection of contemporary artworks in short term rental/residential settings, OHC places art front and center in our lives, while at the same time recognizing that art can be just as compelling in a living room as in a gallery.
Believing artistic expression to be a powerful opportunity for communication, connection and change, founder Matthew Kellen formed Open House Contemporary, an art gallery within a working BNB, with the idea that this venture would provide a platform, with art at its core, to reach out and connect with our communities and visitors to our city in creative and compelling ways.
To give visitors to Chicago an opportunity to live with truly exciting contemporary art. To give artists an opportunity to showcase their work in residential settings and have a multitude of visitors live with that work for days or weeks at a time.
